Pomodoro is a time management technique in which work is divided into 25 minute periods with resting in between. This technique has 6 steps:
1. Determine the task to be done
2. Start the pomodoro timer
3. Work on the task
4. Stop working when the timer rings and rest for 5 minutes
5. Go back to step 2 and repeat to complete four pomodoros
6. Take a long rest (15 minutes) after four pomodoros and return to step 2
The goal of this technique is to reduce the effect of internal and external interruptions on focus and flow. A pomodoro is a unit of work and is indivisible. If an interruption happens during a pomodoro:
1. If it's urgent, stop the pomodoro and after attending to it start a new one
2. Postpone it to the end of pomodoro
Although the pomodoro technique can help anyone improve productivity, it can be particularly useful for individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
