The American West, 1857. Sara Rowell and her son Devin are heading for Crooks Springs, Utah, to meet her husband. She could not be heading into a more dangerous area at a more inopportune time. There is the usual bands of bandits and the ongoing conflict between Native Americans and settlers but right now the territory of Utah, in particular its Mormon population, is on the brink of war with the US government.
